Nutcracker Tea Party 2022

We danced the morning away at our Nutcracker Tea Parties with Ballet Wichita a couple of weeks ago! It was so fun to bring back this fun annual event with Ballet Wichita. Their Nutcracker performance is the weekend of December 16th and you won't want to miss it! These events are always magical for the little ones to come and meet dancers and enjoy a morning with friends. We hope our setup made it extra special! Thank you to Brooke for capturing the morning!
We knew the backdrop needed to be magical for the event! It was being used for pictures and the dancers, plus we wanted it to coordinate with our new nutcracker party supplies. The pink curtains are painted foam board and from Elizabeth's ballerina party last year. Our Creative Director then loaded up with balloons and fringe to make it extra special. The nutcracker balloon comes free standing and is a great gift for those in the nutcracker! We will link all the products at the end of this post.
We have a lot of fun nutcracker party supplies this year, so it was hard to choose what to use! We decided to use the beautiful nutcracker stage plate as the main inspiration and worked from there. Mixing and matching is a great way to have an "Instagram worthy" table setting. Just make sure they coordinate well together! Scattering confetti adds a pop of color. We went with mini water bottles and juice boxes to keep things easy with all the attendees, but you can definitely add some fun cups to the place settings as well. On the end chairs, I added red velvet ribbon with a nutcracker gift tag.
Being a tea party, I wanted to make sure we served special treats! I called upon my friend Cara from September Moon Cupcakery to make these beautiful cupcakes. She also recommended a couple of cookie bakers since my usual was booked up. It was a little last minute, so I split up the orders between Something Sweet by Lo and Sweet Crumbs Bakery. For snack type foods, we did fruit mix and chicken nuggets. Kept it simple and the kids seemed to enjoy!
Mini wooden nutcrackers were decorated by the party guests. Fun keepsake to remember their morning! After their tea party and crafting, Ballet Wichita's dancers performed a number from the upcoming performance. The little dancers watched in awe and then jumped up to dance with them! The dancers were amazing, showing the children ballet positions and turns. It was so fun to watch!
